What does recruitment for First Line Support at Support Online look like?

Some of the most important values we uphold are transparency, honesty, and respect for others. This approach also guides our recruitment processes. Therefore, we strive to ensure that the recruitment process is short, conducted in an open and friendly atmosphere, and that candidates always receive feedback.

In this article, you'll learn how many stages there are in our recruitment processes, how they work, and what's important to us when making decisions.

Choosing the profiles/CVs of the people we want to contact

The first step is selecting the people we want to have a short phone interview with. What do we pay attention to? Of course, the information included in the CV 😊 It's great if you already have some experience in IT. However, it's not necessary. If you graduated from a technical school or are currently studying, there's still a good chance we'll want to talk to you. Don't forget to include in your CV what IT topics you're familiar with (e.g., AD operations, Microsoft services, TCP/IP).

A Short Phone Interview

The interview with the selected candidates usually lasts 5-10 minutes. During this interview, we'll ask you about things like your availability. We'll also want to chat briefly in English and ask you a few technical questions. Of course, we'll first tell you more about the offer and answer your questions.

First Recruitment Meeting

The first meeting takes place with a representative from the HR department and the First Line Support Team Leader. During the interview, you can expect questions about your previous work and education. You will also be asked technical questions that will allow us to understand what IT concepts you are familiar with. This will give you a good indication of the technical areas you may encounter in your daily work at Online Support. You will also hear more about the company, the position, and what it's like to work here. It's also a good idea to ask your own questions during the interview; we'll be happy to answer them.

At the meeting, we'll immediately schedule a time for feedback. We always provide feedback, regardless of whether it's positive or negative.

Second and Final Recruitment Meeting

After receiving positive feedback after the first meeting, you'll immediately be invited to the final stage of the recruitment process: an interview with the Management Board. It might sound intimidating, but don't worry 😊. The people who run the company still want to have a say in who joins the team. After the meeting (as after the previous stage), expect feedback fairly quickly. We typically inform you of the decision within 1-3 days.

Working on the First Line of Support requires a combination of communication skills and technical knowledge. Therefore, we assess these competencies in candidates when making decisions. We want individuals who can communicate with multiple people (users), listen to their problems, and provide professional support.

So, if you enjoy communicating and helping others, are interested in IT, and want to learn and develop in IT, see if we're looking for you! More information can be found at Carrer.

FAQ

An IT company, or IT firm, deals with information technology in a broad sense. This includes, among other things:

  1. Software design and development: An IT company can create custom applications for other companies or software products for the mass market. Depending on their specialization, these can include mobile applications, desktop applications, web applications, or embedded systems.
  2. Consulting services: An IT company often provides experts to advise on implementing new technologies, optimizing business processes, or selecting appropriate technological solutions.
  3. Cloud solutions: Many IT companies specialize in implementing and managing cloud solutions, such as data storage, application hosting, and data analysis platforms.
  4. IT security: Protection against cyberattacks, security audits, implementing security policies, and network monitoring are just some of the IT companies' responsibilities in this area.
  5. IT infrastructure management: In this area, a company may manage servers, databases, networks, and endpoints.
  6. Technical Support and Service: An IT company may provide support for its own products or general IT support for other companies, managing their technology on a daily basis.
  7. Training: Many IT providers also offer training in software use and secure technology use.
  8. Hardware Solutions: Some IT companies may also provide and configure computer, server, or network hardware.

Depending on their specialization and size, an IT company may offer one, several, or all of the above solutions. When choosing a provider, it's important to thoroughly understand their services and tailor them to your individual needs.

Hiring an IT company like Support Online offers several key benefits over an IT freelancer:

  1. Support from the entire team: An IT company has a full team of specialists, from DevOps specialists and Cyber Security Specialists to IT Helpdesk Specialists, who possess diverse skills and experience, enabling faster problem resolution and the implementation of more complex projects.
  2. Reliability and stability: IT companies have an established reputation and track record, which can translate into greater reliability and stability of services.
  3. Maintenance and support: An IT company can offer service contracts, warranties, and after-sales support, which may be more difficult to obtain from an individual freelancer.
  4. Resources: Companies have access to more resources, tools, and technologies that can accelerate and improve project execution.
  5. Long-term availability: The risk of a freelancer disappearing or changing careers is greater than the risk of a well-established company going out of business.

However, it's worth noting that the choice between a company and a freelancer depends on your specific needs and situation. If you value peace of mind and a quick response to unexpected problems, it is worth choosing an IT company such as Support Online.
